Canal Grande is a canal in Venice, in the northeast of Italy. It is the most important corridor for water transport in the city. One end of the canal leads to the lagoon near the Santa Lucia Train Station, and the other ends at the lake near the San Marco area. The Grand Canal runs through the central districts of Venice in the shape of an inverted letter S. It is 3.8 kilometers long and 30 to 90 meters wide. Its average depth is 5 meters.
