The Gastein Valley, or Gasteinertal, is one of Austria’s most popular ski regions. It is known not only for the tracks where races for the World Cup are held, but also as a spa center. For those who want to combine these two activities, the Gastein region is the perfect choice.
If you are coming from outside the borders of Austria, look at the cameras at the border crossings and the cameras at the toll booths from the direction you are coming to Gastein.

The Alpen Therme complex in Bad Hofgastein is particularly famous. The ski area consists of three small towns. From south to north they are: Bad Gastein with its Belle Époque architecture and a mountain waterfall decorating the center, Bad Hofgastein with its pedestrian area and the famous Liebfrauenkirche and the castle and village of Dorfgastein. Grossarl is a small town connected by a ski lift and trails to Dorfgastein and is located in the neighboring Grossarltal valley.
