The Holy Mosque (Arabic: المسجد الحرام – El Masğid el Ḥarām — The Great Mosque), also known as the Meccan Mosque, is located in the city of Mecca, in Saudi Arabia. It is the largest existing mosque and surrounds one of Islam’s holiest sites, the Kaaba. Muslims all over the world face the direction of the Kaaba during prayer. One of the five pillars of Islam requires every Muslim to perform Hajjluk at least once in their lifetime, which includes circumambulation around the Kaaba.
